The high level of the sports facilities in Sort (Pallars Sobirà - Spain), La Seu d'Urgell (Alt Urgell - Spain) and La Val d'Aran (Spain), compared with those of other settlements in Catalonia (Spain), and their excellent organisation have been recognised by Turisme de Catalunya (The Catalan Tourist Board) which has given these two towns the title of Destinació de Turisme Esportiu (Sports Tourism Destination - DTE). This distinction will help their respective centres to offer visitors high quality, specialised, sports services and to differentiate their products and help to promote them on international tourism markets. Centres that have been awarded the DTE must guarantee high quality facilities and services for the sports in which they specialise. Municipalities that opt for a DTE can receive this certification for 1, 2 or even 13 sports.
