Esports Caça

Areas of controlled hunting have been established on common lands containing areas of recognised natural interest. In such areas it is necessary to manage conservation activity in order to ensure a well-organised exploitation of hunting resources.
The Direcció General del Patrimoni Natural i del Medi Físic (General Directorate for Natural Heritage and the Physical Environment) establishes areas of controlled hunting for determined lengths of time, which tend to be renewable 10 year periods.
The Direcció General del Patrimoni Natural i del Medi Físic, is legally responsible for these hunting areas. This organisation is also responsible for their management and for drawing up an annual plan for the exploitation of Catalonia's hunting resources. In some cases, this work is carried out in collaboration with the Federació Catalana de Caça (Catalan Hunting Federation) or with other hunting organisations through collaborative agreements.
