Milk and its by-products are what we call lactic (or dairy) products. The nutritional value of milk and its by-products mean that they are recommended for consumption at every stage of life (in infancy, youth, middle age and old age). Through milk, we can obtain a series of other food products such as butter, cheese, yoghurt and cream.

The Lleida Pyrenees are renowned for their milk production and for the elaboration of all types of cheeses. This can be seen in the area’s Mark of Quality and Designation of Origin and through a range of small companies that are involved in the production and elaboration of products such as Más d’Eroles cheese, Ermengol dairy products and Baridà cheeses.
