The Aiguabarreig-Accessible Tourism

This 700-metre-long wooden walkway runs through the middle of a magnificent riverside wood near the Segre-Cinca Aiguabarreig (Segre-Cinca river confluence) natural space in the municipal district of La Granja d’Escarp. We would like to invite you to come and discover this spectacular in the midst of the Lands of Lleida.

The footbridge
which is made of pine wood, has been built on concrete piles and levelled so as to avoid any uneven surfaces of the type that often become unintended water courses, particularly in spring when the level of the river frequently rises. It is important to stress that the footbridge is equipped with railings, and is therefore adapted for the blind, and that its 1.2m width also means that it is apt for wheelchairs. There are often various wider points that allow sufficient space for wheelchairs to turn and to pass each other.

At about 400 metres from the entrance, visitors will find a fork in the route. It is possible to choose between going to a large riverside balcony, where it is possible to watch the birds that live and breed in the area or that simply pass through the area (it is important to stress that the Segre-Cinca Aiguabarreig zone is a very important passing point along the route of many migrating birds), or going on to the end of the route, where there is an area of reedbeds, where there is a vantage point with an access ramp (with a slope of less than 7%) from which it is possible to observe the birds without disturbing them.
